Andres Lopez is the pioneer of Stand Up Comedy in Colombia. He
started performing in the University de Los Andes where he was a very
good student of Systems Engineer and Anthropology.
The University assigned a classroom for him to teach. Here he
taught the art of stand up to people interested in performing dramatic
and comedic theater. He also created the University Newspaper “El
Mercurio” where there was room for people to place theirs stories,
paintings, poems, photographs and express any type of art.
Later he went to Toronto to study Organizational Motivation and
became a dedicated reader and researcher with the behavior of people.
Back in Colombia for six years, Andres was the creative person at a Radio
Station where he created hundreds of comedy stories.
The most important newspaper in Colombia described his recent show
“The Ball of Letters” “The performance portrays the customs of recent
generations of Colombians, which is better than any sociology study”.
The show consists of a subtle sociologist
analysis of the life in Latin American Countries from the 1960's to the
1990's. Before March 2005, more than 300,000 persons have attended his
show. In August 2005, upon opening a concert of 44,000 persons, the
stadium gave him a standing applause after his show.
Andres has been in different cities including
New York and Miami where his show has been sold out.
According to Semana Magazine, Andrés is one
of the 40 Most Influential People in Colombia under 40 years old. The

Andres has a new alternative for companies,
he created a new aspect of motivational speech for employees including
parts of his show on the performance. Some companies have used his
services to change radically the company internally.
Andres has also been a part of numerous talk
shows, hosting of TV programs, a multitude of interviews on TV and radio,
and has been writing for newspapers and various magazines.
Andres was born on June 25, 1971. In 2005 he
has a total of 15 years of experience with the artistic life.
